George Municipality wishes to support and grow the film sector in this thriving city. The aim of the Municipality is to facilitate opportunity, actively drive growth, facilitate skills development, employment and career advancement, social and economic transformation, and the promotion of diversity in the industry.

The Tourism section strives to encourage and facilitate film tourism within George Municipality.  We are here to assist film producers though permitting and sourcing of local suppliers and film industry personnel.  The municipality has a pre-approved list of locations as well as local knowledge to make your production a success.

ONLINE FILM AND EVENT PERMIT APPLICATIONS
All permits should be applied for via the provincial platform, making it easy for producers to register once to use any of the municipalities in the Western Cape that use it.(https://westerncape.collaboratoronline.com)

Please note that Drone Flying is regulated by the Fire Department and a permission letter is required to fly commercial drones in the George jurisdiction. The same applies to helicopter flying and filming.
