Update Eskom load shedding schedule: Saturday, 13 January 2024

Update Eskom load shedding schedule: Saturday, 13 January 2024: The slight improvement in generation capacity as well as the recovery of emergency reserves for the week ahead has enabled Eskom not to implement Stage 4 loadshedding from 16:00 today as previous communicated. Stage 3 loadshedding will remain in place until 16:00 on Sunday when Stage 4 loadshedding will be implemented.
Eskom will closely monitor the power system and communicate any changes should it be required.

Uniondale will be affected as follows:

Latest Update: Road Surface Witfontein and Airway Road

Interim repairs are complete, and the road surface is exposed at the intersection of Witfontein and Airway Road after Civil Engineering Services worked on a burst pipe. The area where work was done is covered with gravel and drivers are urged to be cautious and reduce speed within the intersection.

Further repair works to restore the road surface will commence from Monday 15 January 2024 to 19 January 2024. Traffic controls will be in place and the roads will remain open.

Eskom load shedding update: Stage 3 loadshedding will be implemented from 16:00 today (12 January 2024) with Stages 3 and 4 loadshedding being implemented over the weekend.

NOTIFICATION OF THE INTERRUPTION OF THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY.

NOTICE is hereby given that the electricity supply will be interrupted on WEDNESDAY 17 JANUARY  2024  FROM  09H00 TO 17H00 for the purpose of doing alterations to the electrical mains.  Consumers are warned to treat the installation as being live for the full duration as the supply may be resumed at any time within the notified period.

Should circumstances prevent the work being carried out during the abovementioned period; the work will be done on THURSDAY18 JANUARY 2024 FROM  09H00 TO 17H00.

Sou omstandighede verhoed dat die werk gedoen kan word gedurende bogenoemde periode, sal die werk gedoen word op  DONDERDAG  18 JANUARIE  2024 VANAF 09H00 TOT 17h00.

Latest Update: Water restored to Blanco area

Water is restored to the area surrounding Witfontein and Airway Roads after a burst pipe.
George municipality is busy completing interim repairs to make the road safe for use. A complete repair will follow.
Airway road is closed at Witfontein Road and there is no access from Witfontein Road to Airway Road. It will remain closed until repairs are finalised.

Further update: Burst pipe in Blanco area – Airway Road closed

Please note Airway Road is closed at Witfontein Road and there is no access from Witfontein to Airway Road. Further updates on the road and traffic will be provided in due course.

Teams are working to repair a burst pipe on the corner of Witfontein and George Roads, leading to Blanco.

Repairs are underway and adjacent areas may experience low pressure and no water. Traffic control and signage are in place. Motorists are requested to be cautious and patient.

Expected repair time is 5 – 6 hours.
