A pipe burst occurred at Gloxinia Street in Seaview. This has resulted in water supply interruption in that area. The Estimated time of repair is 5 to 6 hours. A water truck has meanwhile been arranged to be stationed at Gloxinia Street to supply water to affected residents.

The power supply has been restored to a large part of Hoekwil, however, a portion of Bosbok Laan in Hoekwil will remain off till repairs are finished. The Estimated time of repair for the remaining area is 5 hours.

Unplanned Power Outage in Hoekwil
An unplanned power outage has been reported in Hoekwil. Electricians have been dispatched to investigate.
Please take note, Conville Library will be closed from 16 to 18 October due to asset verification planning that needs to be done by the Provincial Library Service.
Unfortunately, no checking in or checking out of any library material may be done on these dates as it will compromise the outcome of the stocktake.
In terms of Section 14 of Regulations PK.689/1980 a full asset verification should be done in all libraries affiliated with the Provincial Library Service, Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport.
Patrons can, however, make use of their closest branch library in George if the need arises.
The library will reopen for the public again on Thursday, 19 October 2023.

The transfer station will open from tomorrow, 12 October 2023. Users are requested to be patient as the site is not operating at its capacity. Waste transporters that are using the waste transfer station for gain, are requested to minimize the volumes to the transfer station.
There is a report of a power outage at Twee Rivieren. A contractor reportedly damaged an 11kv cable. Electricians are on site to repair the damage. The Estimated Time of Repair (ETR) is 1 hour.
An unplanned power outage has been reported in the George Central Business District (CBD). An electrician is out to investigate.

SANRAL is undertaking work underneath the Thembalethu Bridge tonight, 11 October and the Westbound N2 lane (Direction Mossel Bay) will be closed to traffic from approximately 19h00 – 24h00 (Midnight).
Motorists will be able to use the off ramps at the bridge, to gain access to the N2 on the other side, in order to continue their journey.
The Westbound lane closure will remain in place until midnight tonight. The night-time closures are required to paint the cages on the bridge.
The work is being undertaken at night to minimise the inconvenience to road users. All motorists are requested to reduce speed in the construction area and to remain patient.
Please be advised that this week’s (Monday’s and Tuesday’s) collection of green bags will only be collected with the next week’s collection schedule.
The collection schedule of green bags has resumed as of today, 11 October 2023, following the closure of the Transfer Station due to a fire that occurred two weeks ago. The collection of Green Bags (garden refuse) was subsequently suspended until Tuesday 10 October for resumption today.
