UPGRADING OF THEMBALETHU BULK GRAVITY SEWER MAIN: PHASE 2

The upgrading of the bulk sewer network in Thembalethu will have some impact on the residents during the construction period from April 2024 to August 2024. The estimated construction duration is 5 months.

PROJECT: UPGRADING OF THEMBALETHU BULK GRAVITY SEWER MAIN: PHASE 2

DESCRIPTION:
The work consists of installing approximately 1060 meters of underground bulk gravity sewer, 200-315 mm diameter, uPVC class 34 pipes, including manholes and house connections, as well as associated reinstatements.

PROJECT PERIOD:
April 2024 to August 2024.

SERVICE DISRUPTION:
Interruptions can be expected during the connection of the existing infrastructure to the new infrastructure. Advance notification of planned temporary disruptions will be sent out via social media.

WORKING HOURS:
Working hours will be from 07h00 to 17h00 Mondays to Fridays.

IMPACT
The intended construction works will take place mainly on the boundaries of existing erven. The works will impact on residents and pedestrians. It is, however, important for the public to take notice of the intended works since there will be work done on the existing bulk sewer infrastructure. The work area will be fully closed to the public. No member of the public may access the construction area throughout the duration of the construction period. Access to properties will be managed between the contractor and the property occupants.

ACCESS TO SITE:
Access to the site will be strictly controlled. No member of the public will be allowed access to the construction area, in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
