Upgrading of Conville Water Reticulation Network
UPGRADING OF CONVILLE WATER RETICULATION NETWORK
The upgrading of the water reticulation network in Conville will have some impact on the residents and road users during the construction for the period of March 2024 to November 2024. The estimated construction duration is 8 months.
PROJECT:
UPGRADING OF CONVILLE WATER RETICULATION NETWORK
DESCRIPTION:
The work consists of installing approximately 7600m HDPE Class 12 water reticulation pipes by means of in-situ pipe cracking varying in size from 110mm to 160mm, installing erf connections, smart water meters, isolation valves, fire hydrants, as well as associated reinstatements.
PROJECT PERIOD:
March 2024 to November 2024.
SERVICE DISRUPTION:
Interruption can be expected during the connection to the existing reticulation, commissioning, and re-connection. Advance notification of planned temporary disruptions will be sent out via social media.
WORKING HOURS:
Working hours will be from 07h00 to 17h00 Mondays to Fridays.
IMPACT:
The intended construction works will take place mainly in the road reserves with some open trench road crossings planned and work on properties during re-connection and commissioning. The works will impact on residents, pedestrians, scholars, runners, cyclists, and road users. It is, however, important for the public to take notice of the intended works since there will be excavations and work done on existing water infrastructure. The work area will be fully closed to the public. No member of the public may access the construction area throughout the construction period. Access to properties will be managed between the contractor and the property occupants.
ACCESS TO SITE:
Access to the site will be strictly controlled. No member of the public will be allowed access to the construction area, in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
