BULK ELECTRICAL RING FEED SUPPLY TO THEMBALETHU SEWER PUMP STATION No. 6

The Bulk Electrical Ring Feed Supply to Thembalethu Sewer Pump Station No. 6 should not have an impact on the residents, pedestrians, scholars, runners, cyclists, and road users. It is, however, important for the public to take notice of the intended construction works. Construction will commence in January 2024. The estimated construction duration is 5 months.

PROJECT:
BULK ELECTRICAL RING FEED SUPPLY TO THEMBALETHU SEWER PUMP STATION No. 6

DESCRIPTION:
The Bulk Electrical Ring Feed Supply will be completed between municipal substation “SS-AFRICA ST” and Thembalethu Sewer Pump Station No. 6. The work will entail a new 11kV overhead line constructed in parallel with the existing line and it will be completed with 11kV underground cables at both ends.

PROJECT PERIOD:
January 2023 to May 2024.

SERVICE DISRUPTION:
No Municipal services will be affected.

WORKING HOURS:
Working hours will be from 08h00 to 17h00 Mondays to Fridays.

IMPACT:
The construction works will take place in a remote area where there should be no impact on the residents, pedestrians, scholars, runners, cyclists, and road users. It is, however, important for the public to take notice of the intended works since there will be excavations and work done on existing electricity infrastructure. The area will be fully closed to the public. No pedestrians, scholars, runners, cyclists may access the construction area throughout the duration of the construction period.

ACCESS TO SITE:
Access to the site will be strictly controlled. No member of the public will be allowed access to the construction area, in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
