PUBLIC ALERT: Status of roads in George, 6 December 06h30

Residents are advised where possible to stay at home today. Heavy rainfall this morning (48mm) has resulted in a number of roads throughout George being under water. Residents are requested to please either stay off the roads and/or proceed with utmost caution.

Wellington Street – only one lane open for traffic
Saasveld Road – tree down from Wilderness side, road currently closed until Fire Brigade can remove tree (remains closed from George side towards NMU)
Stag Drive, Dellville Park – under water
CJ Langenhoven Road – sections under water
Camphersdrift Street – sections under water
Bougainvillea Street – section under water

More rainfall is expected throughout the day.
