Waboomskraal community being equipped
Waboomskraal community members had reason to be joyful as 11 of their community members had the opportunity to receive training at Cape Access and were awarded ICDL (International Computer Drivers’ License) and e-learner certificates.
ICDL is the world's leading Computer skills certification. In 2010,Cape Access entered into an Agreement with ICDL South Africa to offer training in their centres. The modules offered in the centres are as follow, Computer Essentials, Online Essentials, Presentation, Database, Excel and Microsoft Word.
Cape access have trained trainers that train the community.
The Waboomskraal community was in a very festive mood when 11 of their members were awarded ICDL and E-Learner certificates by Cape Access. The top E-Learner student, Matheus Fortuin got a mark of 86% and the two top candidates in ICDL was intern, Janco Minnaar with 96% and Jessica Plaatjies with 90%.
There are 70 Cape Access centres across the Western Cape and 19 of those are situated in the Eden District. In George there are a centres at Thembalethu Thusong Centre and Waboomskraal Thusong Centre. Two centres respectively placed in Thembalethu Library and the Conville Library is being upgraded currently.
George Municipality would like to encourage our youth to go and visit their nearest e-Centre and enrol for free accredited computer training courses.
