A Smart Card introducing automatic fare collection for the GO GEORGE

A Smart Card introducing automatic fare collection for the GO GEORGE bus service was implemented on 15 November 2018.  This new system will speed up boarding time on the buses and help the system to stay on schedule. At the same time, the convenience of having one card and just topping it up with trips at top-up vendors all over town, eliminates the security risk of carrying cash.  Executive Mayor, Alderman Melvin Naik is seen here with excited passengers making there way to work on the morning of the GO GEORGE Smart Card going live. Passengers used their Smart Cards to travel free of charge for the first three days after implementation. At the back are GO GEORGE Manager, James Robb with his daughter Elizabeth proudly holding up her own Smart Card.
