George SA Protea Skopboksers terug van Ierland

George lede van die Suid-Afrikaanse  Protea skopboksspan het vandag op George Lughawe geland nadat hulle aan die Wako Junior Wêreldkampioenskap in Dublin, Ierland  deelgeneem het. Die kampioenskap het van 27 Augustus tot 3 September geduur. Suid-Afrika was een van 57 lande wat aan die kampioenskap deelgeneem het met 2 000 skopboksers. Die Suid-Afrikaanse span het uit 31 skopboksers bestaan. Die span het drie silwer en agt brons medaljes gewen.Rdh. Melvin Naik, Uitvoerende Burgemeester (middel agter) van George en Rdl. Marlene Viljoen, Portefeuljeraadslid vir Sport en Omgewingsake (agter: tweede van regs), het plaaslike lede van die Suid-Afrikaanse Protea skopboksspan op die George Lughawe terug verwelkom. Voor van links is DJ van de Beer van die Scorpionsklub, Ricayda Bezuidenhout en Tamor Patel. Agter staan Shane Ahrends, die Burgemeester, Rdl. Viljoen en Sensei Anne van der Merwe. Al die anders skopboksers is van Blanco Development klub. George Munisipaliteit het die span ‘n donasie gegee ten bate van die toer. Rdh. Naik gesê hy is baie trots op die span en dat hulle teen skopboksers wat baie meer ondervinding het, tot in die halfeindrondte gevorder het. Hy het die spanlede en afrigters bedank vir hul harde werk en aangespoor om nog harder te werk sodat hulle weer kan deelneem en nog lede kan saamneem.
